Custom firmware 1.62 IE A Update2 - Image 1Homebrew developer becus25's custom firmware wouldn't be called IE (as in "increasing edition") if it doesn't get updated regularly, right? Right. So with that said, let us all welcome Custom firmware 1.62 IE A Update2. And we're telling you now, this is way better than the first update.

According to the coder, the bugs and issues present in the past release had already been isolated, and Update 2 should cause no more bricks. He also notes that in the very unlikely event that you do brick your PlayStation Portable (PSP) unit, all you have to do is use the recovery function. However, just be sure that you have either downgraded or have the official update of Sony in "ms0:/psp/game/ierecovery".

We've already posted Custom firmware 1.62 IE A's general functions and recovery functions from our last report so don't forget to read that first. The only thing added (which is very important mind you), is the addition of better security and the flasher.

Before you use this application, be sure to check the Readme file as well as the To Install file that comes with the download. It never hurts to be doubly sure, you know?

 » WHY?????????????

why would u risk bricking your PSP installing a custom firmware that lacks all the features that 3.10 OE-A has. if your brave enough to install a custom firmware, might as well be 3.10 OE-A or any other OE-A. OE-A has the recovery feature plus many more, and has the ability to emulate PSX games.

So why???? create this custom firmware.

Dark Alex has got custom firmwares covered, you might as well spend your time on creating something else.

PS. no offence

» sounded rather offensive to me

I use and love 3.03 OE-C, but you gotta give becus credit for trying. Some of the things he's got looks interesting so I'd keep my eye on this one.

A little friendly competition never hurt anyone did it?

   Re: mouse (Unregistered) - 2007-04-14
 » good job

it isn't a waist of time for anyone to learn and to post their results. as of right now, it may or may not be as good as OE but it is better than nothing. what would happen if A retired and there wasn't anybody working on custom firmwares? we would be without while people tried to learn the ropes. now, we are not out as long because we have somebody working on it already. you should never discourage somebody trying to do something good.

I agree with you man. I certainly wouldn't risk bricking for a less impressive custom firmware, especially with all the signs pointing to DA releasing an update in the coming weeks or even days.

 » Arrrrrrr Matey...

I agree with you, let's all be PIRATES and download PSX games which we would normally pay for!

ARRRRRRRRR MATEY.

And no one be telling me they only download the games they already have the real psx games for... only about 5% do...

This supports more homebrew / is more stable with running homebrew then dax's with dax's i always have to run 1.5 kernel anyway cause 3.03 kernel is pretty *****ed up.

Why do people use linux? or BSD?
It's because they want to and it works.

Something to keep an eye on though. Im sure not even the best devs have a perfect track record. Keep up the hard work .

With 3.30 OE around the corner (hopefully) I see no reason for anyone to use this. I don't want to discourage homebrew devs, but this seems pretty pointless to me.

Sorry for sounding ignorant but it's true. Stop trying. People are always going to use DAX's official versions. You've wasted your time.

DAX's official versions.

what? nothing official about his firmware. Are you saying that custom means Dark_AleX made it? you ignoroant piece of *****

 » Good Job!

Why the hell are some of you bashing on this guy's custom firmware? I'd bet that most if not any of you people bashing on the guy, could even work with or write your own custom firmware. This community makes me sick some times. "Or maybe it's just these useless comments"
And before you bashers, think about writing back to try and insult me. Forget it, I wont waste anymore time on it.

Good Job becus25 nice work, and keep it up.

   Re: FreePlay (Unregistered) - 2007-04-15
 » Why they bash it

Because the old ones caused bricks, and this one "shouldn't..."
   by mohaas05 (Unregistered) - 2007-04-14
 » ...

the reason OE and SE firmwares are more popular is because 1. They are very stable and reliable 2. They boast many features that other custom firmwares don't have and 3. They are made by Dark_AleX who has already made himself well known in the PSP homebrew scene

   Re: Keyser (Unregistered) - 2007-04-14
 » D_A already did it

There was a South Park episode which focuses on the fact that all the storylines that can be done were already done by Simpsons.. but better.

Custom Firmware has been done by D_A so the smart money says that if you can't beat them, join them. Not too many people can do custom firmware so if they joined forces it could only benefit the community.

   Re: asdas (Unregistered) - 2007-04-14
 » asdasd

you retards should get something right, they are not doind this for your lazy ass or to make you pleased, they are doing this because they like to code, its a hobby, what would be the point of "joining forces"? You lazy bastards would get something faster cuz your little geek ass can't wait for for the new cfw? Go suck a c*ck....
   by .A.J. - 2007-04-14
 » Pics/Vid?

I already use D.A.'s custom FW 3.10OE-A because it works with my PS3 but I'd love to see this in action.

I won't be switching to this but I think that anyone who can make a custom FW that works is talented. On top of that, anyone who makes custom programs and is nice enough to share them for free is also quite generous. Telling a talented, generous programmer that he is wasting his time is unnecessary. The experience alone is worth the effort.

Good stuff man, I hope you keep trying and aren't deterred by the useless critical comments left here. Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing it.

stop ******* bashing this guy. this is a great pience of ustom firmware while i might not use it yet it doesnt mean that its good..

this is like apple and microsoft....microsoft is more popular and better than apple but doesnt mean that apple doesnt have any good features. give credit to the guy...and thank him for his contribution to the hombrew community.

"microsoft is more popular and better than apple"

only thing apple need to perfect is blue screen of death every two fecking seconds...

blue screen of death doesnt happen on win2000 and up... and youve got anything worse than 2000 its probably not worth calling a computer lol...

btw statistics do show that microsoft is far more popular than apple anyway. i agree that apple does have some good features tho.

Re: American Patriot (Unregistered) - 2007-04-15

Jews have more money than the average american because of several reasons.

1. We have plenty of never-working races calling themselves americans like Hispanics, Negros and the Kennedys
2. Jews would kill their own parents when its profitable for them. They cheat on everyone. Itīs like saying a guy who obviously uses cheats in videogames is the best player around. He isnīt. He is just a damn spoilsport and an a55hole. So are jews
