Chrono Trigger - Image 1

If you managed to get your hands on an extremely rare "pre-release" - by pre-release we mean demo samples given only to game distributors and journalists - Chrono Trigger ROM for the Super Famicom, would you sell it on eBay? Would you?

Apparently, eBay seller jqf69er (his eBay store is called SQUAREworx) will. He's selling his for only US$ 274.95. Admit it, as much as you'd say, "No, I'd never sell it if I had it," you're very glad that people like jqf69er - people who are willing to sell gaming treasures - exist. Where else are you guys going to get your swag?

The guy is also selling a Final Fantasy VII Aerith chrome statue, a Cid Highwind Zippo Lighter, and an extremely rare Final Fantasy VI Tina chrome statue.

Here's to hoping that a port of it will show up for the Virtual Console, or XBLA, or even the PS Store; that the Blue Dragon trio will let Square make a remake/sequel;and here's to hoping that the trio will still be involved.

Yeah, we're suffering from turn-based nostalgia.

What do you mean by "Pre-release chorno rom" ? All Snes games are stored on rom chips and if I didnt know any better I might think you mean they are auctioning the rom chips themselves - or even the common term rom is used in emulation short for a rom dump.

You should not try to be technical when you cant explain yourself clearly to people who read the blog. It just seems missleading the way that you have written the title with fancy words to make it a bigger story than it actually is. "Demo Snes Cartridge" would be more of a clearer explination of it for sure!

 » haha

lol Chrono ROM by explaining it this way you are indicating a file and not a physical cart

and make yourself sound so phony by saying it might show up in VC... do yourselves a favor and spare us your random musings especially if they resemble this one...

the real hope is whoever bought this will take the time to either rip the game themselves or sell it to someone who can, and that a "ROM" will be put together that we can all already enjoy freely on any half asked SNES emulator for our computers of choice, just so you know, 99% of us really could care less about Virtual Console why bother with that if we've had near perfect emulation for, oh, i dont know, over 10 freakin years?
