wow! PS3 ( the second gen that is) is going to be less hotter than frist gen PS3 .... hmmm good news but should i wait then for better and cooler chip?....nah lets hope that heating will be handled by sony as usual they decend or good job with PS2's heating up problem.... un like xbox 360 that needs third party parts to cool it downl..lol...

You might as well say good reason to wait until 2007 to get Xbox360, since MS announced Xbox360 ver 2 is coming out in 2007, and it will use 65nm chip which may likely to solve the heat problem.

Microsoft is moving to the 65nm chip for cost savings mostly. Most 360 on the market today donot get that hot, and i have never seen one that over heats.
But this will really help the cell processor becasue even the Cells in the new Macs run crazy hot. So hot that i cant work that your laptop actually feels like it will burn you. But every processor gets hot; and are designed around this.
Holding off buying a PS3 becasue of this news is pure rubish, the launch ones will not over heat, but maybe louder becasue of increased fan speeds. And you will see little or no performance gains since we are only talking about a couple degrees. I havent seen anyone with water cooled xbox360s say they get performance increases, and they drop the temp upwards of 10 degrees. The only thing i would really worry about is the quality of the BD players; since sony has a very bad track record with any of they optical drives used in there gaming consoles. Even the V12 PS2 lasers dies quite fast.

this is perfect evidence to say that not only will Sony drop the manufacture price of the PS3 but also the retail price of the PS3 which will be around 2007.
I think 2007 is the year all next gen systems(espessailly the 360 and PS3 in order to have a low price and better tech will be in and they will have a better systems)
i say get a PS360 because you will get so much from both this great great systems which I beleive is true next gen(Halo, killzone, MGS, Gears of war) hell ya
