nosferatuWhile Xbox 360 fans may have to wait a little longer (or a lot longer, forever even) for Halo the movie, DS fans may be having better luck with the movie version of the hit franchise Castlevania. The videogame-turned-movie project will be re-telling the classic Bram Stoker's Dracula starting from the story of Romanian prince Vlad the Impaler before he became a blood-sucker.

Like the Halo, the Castlevania movie project's development is far from smooth. Dimension Films dropped the movie after film director Paul W.S. Anderson's script left that company's executives' blood cold. The script, according to reports, takes place in various eras but most scenes will be in 15th century Transylvania.

Then Rogue Pictures agreed to team up with Paul W.S. Anderson and Crystal Sky Entertainment to bring Castlevania to the silver screen. The movie is expected to be an "action/horror project" similar to Underworld and Blade but with "a strong romantic element."

 » Horrible article.

This article is about as bad as the Castlevania movie promises to be. Kudos on using the boxart image is from Nosferatu, the 1922 film, but it does downhill from there.

How can you slam Halo for its production delays when Castlevania will be "written" and "directed" -- as if ANY of his films (Mortal Kombat, Resident Evil, Alien vs. Predator) had any writing or any form of cinematic direction involved.

Hmmm, let's see: Peter Jackson vs. Paul WS Anderson. rofl, talk about not being in the same ballpark -- they're not even in the same freaking sport.

also, Dracul is never referred to as Vlad the Impaler, nevermind "Vlad" in Bram Stroker's Dracula, but rather something that historians and fans of his original work believe he may have modeled his character over. Coppola and his screenwriter took this and ran with it for the 1992 film.

that's terrible...There really are a lot of games out there that story-wise would do well, if they weren't lableled as gaming genre movies and actually produced for mass audiences... I wish peter jackson would do Castlevania...

 » Checklist

Ok folks, lets check the checklist.

1. Is it a movie about a video game?
1a. If the answer to #1 is yes, then refer to #2.
1b. If the answer to #1 is no, then refer to #3.

2. The movie is horrible beyond reason, avoid at all costs.

3. Probably the best movie ever made. I would advise you to see this movie.

So, following your logic; Crossroads, Batman + Robin, Swept Away and Gigli probably are the best movies ever made, you advise us to see those movies... gg
