WoW: Spell graphic updates - Image 1A handful of players have been asking about the changes in the animations of spells in World of Warcraft. If you've been played the game recently, you might have noticed a few tweaks such as the ones for Blessing of Kings and other abilities.

The graphic updates are a necessity as they give a visual cue on what characters are doing. It gives opponents in PvP a chance to react as well as give PvE players some additional info on what the rest of the party is casting.

Blizzard poster and forum moderator Drysc gave a few words on these updates and the eventual goal of Blizzard. According to him,
there's no real plan to go down the list and refine spell effects any more than they have been. He added,

The ultimate goal, which isn't necessarily going to be completely implemented for all spell effects, is to keep them unique and discernible from other spells. We have no plans to completely redefine all spell effects as a whole, although minor changes are likely to continue to occur here and there.

So we can expect more "minor" changes to come that should differentiate the spells in the MMO game. Some players have pointed out though that some of the updates weren't exactly very distinct and hopefully, Blizzard will be addressing this issue in the future.
