Best Buy offer - Image 1

Halo 3
is shaping up to be the most talked about game nowadays thanks to all the talks about release date speculations and the beta invites. Taking advantage of this scenario is Best Buy who recently came up with a sweet enough offer that would entice any gamer, especially the really hardcore ones.

Here's how the deal goes, if you buy Halo 3 in Best Buy's online store (which would cost you roughly 60 or 70 bucks), you'll be able to buy 1,600 MS points for just five greenbacks. 1,600 MS points is equivalent to US$ 20, so you'll be saving roughly US$ 15. So if you have some spare cash lying around somewhere and you don't need it for anything, this offer might just tickle your fancy.

Anyhow, if you're interested, the read link below will take you to the Best Buy site so as you could check the deal out for yourself.

Don't do this offer unless you can pick it up from the store somehow. I did this same thing with Gears of War and they finally shipped the game 3 days after the release. I just went to the physical store and bought a copy there with no pre-order the day after launch, then when my game finally came in a WEEK after the launch, I brought that in with the receipt from the other purchase to get my money back.

PITA, so don't do it unless you can arrange for in-store pickup, or you'll be playing Halo 3 a week after launch.

 » Seems like a ripoff

The web site requires full payment for the game 10 months in advance in return for $15.00 off a point card. I can think of a lot of other things I can use the $59.00 for in the 10 month span. That is if the real date is 10 months out. How many times did the Halo II release date change?
