Despite the fact that demand for laptop computers have weakened in Taiwan, Asus unveils its leather-designed S6 laptop. Featuring an Intel Core Duo L2300 (1.66 GHz) processor and an 11-inch widescreen LCD, the three-pound Asus laptop was released last week in Taiwan for NT$66,800 (approx. US$2,094).

The company is hoping that with features such as a 100GB hard drive with 5400RPM, 1GB DDR2 RAM, built0in dual-layer DVD burner, 802.11a/b/g Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 2.0, Asus S6 will do better than its competitors. Or else, they'd have to hitch on to the price wars expected to come the third quarter of the year.
