Apple has released the eight Beta build (designated 9m2199) of their iPhone SDK. The kit also includes a new iPhone firmware build (5a345), with the entire bundle requiring a particularly hefty 1.25 GB of space.

Based on the details available so far, it also appears that this new SDK is compatible with the upcoming iPhone OS 2.0, currently scheduled to launch this July. Another related update that's been made available is a developers-only release of iTunes 7.7.

Developers will need to use iTunes to load their iPhone SDK into their phones. Here's a snippet of the new iTunes version's documentation to give you an idea of what it can do (via iPodNN):

Use iTunes 7.7 to sync music, video, and more with iPhone 3G, and download applications from the iTunes Store exclusively designed for iPhone and iPod touch with software version 2.0 or later. The iTunes download is separate from the iPhone SDK. On a last note, Apple iPhone Beta certificates that were released before June 9 have now expired. Developers interested in continuing their projects will want to re-apply with a certificate issued after the said date.
