Apple patents way to order from Starbucks on your iPhone - Image 1

Something's brewing for your iPhone, and you can get it in decaf. According to a patent filed by Apple, your iPhone may soon become a way for you to skip all the hassle of falling in line to order your favorite cup of coffee in Starbucks.

The patent describes a way for you to use a device - an iPhone is likely for this task - to bypass an "annoying wait in the queue" and not knowing when your order's ready, which sometimes results in "tepid" coffee.

Essentially you'll get to order your drink with the device and when the drink is ready, the device will also let you know if the order's been prepared so you can pick it up as soon as it's up on the counter. The system will also allow computers in stores to record their customers' favorite orders.
