GoWMost Gears of War fans probably know that the game is going to be released on November 12 (perhaps because of the whole hullaballoo on the "big announcement"). Why on a Sunday, you ask? Well, according to developer Cliff Bleszinski, Microsoft believes that all the major retailers will have the game in stock by the 12th. Apparently, November 12 is also dubbed as "Emergence Day" and it seems that Microsoft is cooking  up something cool for the said day as well.

He says that they're currently split at 70-30 regarding the single player versus multiplayer issue. But Cliffy B assures us "That doesn't mean versus is not a priority for us, it just means that we're building this enormous rollercoaster ride of a cinematic single player experience which requires a lot of hands on and polish!"

He also adds that there will be 3 weapon categories: Coalition (the shiny, high-tech, sleek ones), Locust (less sophisticated ammo), and Stranded (basically, the left-overs). He also says that there's going to be "an interetsing twist on the driver/gunner formula in the game."

Right now, he says that the game is in the polishing and bug fixing stages, but we should expect it to be oodles of fun. And that's no understatement, coming from a guy who used to dress up in Ninja outfits at 4 in the morning, and light up a stolen gas can in the middle of the road. Yeah, it's definitely going to be fun.
