GTA4 - Image 1

Over in the UK, some have expressed concern that the close release dates of Nintendo's Wii Fit and Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto 4(Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 3) may affect their respective sales. This is despite the two games being hosted in different platforms.

Not to worry says EEDAR Analytic Services director Jesse Divnich. The seasoned analyst predicts that there will be some overlap at the onset, but he does not expect any major friction between the two triple-A releases.

"It is funny that the Nintendo Wii has gathered so much steam that we are beginning to ask ourselves if their games will impact the sales of triple-A titles such as Grand Theft Auto," he comments.

He adds, however, that personally, he thinks both will "co-exist nicely with each other and will do little to disrupt each other's sales". He also commented that although both titles are targeting the mass market, consumers are likely to get both titles in coming weeks if they don't do so immediately.

Wii Fit has already taken Japan by storm, topping sales charts for weeks on end. It'll give Wii owners the chance to slim down in the UK come April 25th. Grand Theft Auto 4, on the other hand, will launch on April 29th and is expected to rack up serious figures in its initial weeks on shelves.

It's clear to see that these two games won't have an impact on the sales of each other.

PS3 and Wii are for different types of gamers.

GTA and Wii Fit are for different types of gamers.

To be honest, I don't think any game could hurt GTA IV's sales figures.

How much do these analysts get paid to come up with this stuff? Tell us something we don't already know! Lol!

 » agree

» On the contrary it will bring peace!

So moms and go play Fit and kids go play GTA and leave the dads alone for more CoD4! If you have 3 TV and consoles that is ;)

I think I want to be an analyst! Seriously... who else could say something that dumb and not have people jump down their throats?

That's like saying that the release of both Transformers on Blu-Ray and Big Mama's House on VHS won't hurt each others sales.

Man, Halo3 doesn't even have the goods to trump GTAIV let alone Nintendo's newest "Buy as much crap as you can" addon /w meager game to accompany it - to their system.

Why would Nintendo's washed up mario games, half assed ports, and recycled last gen games from 8 years ago affect truly great games on other consoles? It's a totally different market. One has gullible idiots buying into the Wii fad, the other is hardcore gamers that think the Wii is the world's best selling joke.

» ignorant as always m sense

the other is hardcore gamers that think the Wii is the world's best selling joke.

as the hardcore gamer that i am i don't think that wii is the best selling joke

i love how people bogard the name "hardcore gamer"

a hardcore gamer is someone that play games for the innovation , the story, the gameplay, let not forget the fun

a ignorant gamer like you m sense only plays games to vindicate your small ego

Re: Mister Common Sense - 2008-04-17
 » no

You're not a hardcore gamer.

   Re: Lazyboy256 - 2008-04-17

   Re: demondirk - 2008-04-17

How Sad

I own all three systems

and i play games just like i stated above

Thats all you have to say?.... " You're not a hardcore gamer."?
..........nintendo has and does give us rediculisly fun games without them being bloody gorey full of guns and s*** which sure i like game like that too but nintendo always offers something unique and different which you have no taste in apparently......which makes YOU Mister common retard a stereotypical gamer who obviously does like to play the same S*** over and over agian which is what GTA is by the way along with its many clones that are the exact F***ing same like oh i dont know Saints row, Among many that i could care less to mention

 » WTF?

What are you talking about? Wii Fit will hurt GTA IV sales A LOT! Everybody will be buying Wii Fit. Nobody wants another rehash (well, aside from the kids under the age of 17).

   Re: SonnySoul - 2008-04-18
 » Rehash?

Rehash:- 'To bring forth again in another form without significant alteration.'

Atleast wait for the game to be released before writing it off. I'm pretty sure everyone will be bored of Wii Fit after a couple of weeks. I've got a Wii also and to be honest, I think it's a waste of money. All of the games seem mediocre after a few days. However, I won't write off Wii Fit until I've given it a go, so please don't write off GTA, I'm sure many people will be suprised, and if it's not you're kind of thing, the online modes seem spectacular!
