If you've been longing for the next horror game that will give you scares, you're not alone. Fortunately, Atari and Eden Games' Alone in the Dark 5 (Sony PlayStation 3, Microsoft Xbox 360, PC) is showing exciting development as seen in the recently released tech demo.

What you'll see is a glimpse at real world rules - about using any object you can get your hands on for survival. It may sound ambitious for video games, but from what Eden Games showcased, execution is shaping up to be solid. To kick things off, Alone in the Dark 5 tries to be realistic even in inventory management. In the game, everything you acquire appears in your jacket and you have to pick them up from there.

Sticky tapes, smoke sticks, and containers of flammable liquid are all tools of the trade. See them in action by watching Alone in the Dark 5's tech demo embedded below.

 » well

these "real world rules" arent very real at all. if i stuck some tape to a bottle filled with butane and threw it it would bounce as if th tape wasnt there, and when i threw it it wouldnt leave a fuel trail for me, i would have to prep a fuel trail before hand. and why would shooting a steel clip in the ceiling release a light. te bullet would just ricochet. the game looks fun, but dont try to pass things as "realistic" if there not even close.
