Blazing Angels Wii version - Image 1This article is about flight action title Blazing Angels (Wii, 360, PS3) and it's a tricky one. Ubisoft updated its official website and added the following information about the game's Wii version:

Multiplayer for up to 16 players online (with one new PS3/Wii mode) Engage in head-to-head dogfights or cooperative team play between squadrons on huge maps with large formations.

And then, the box art image you see on the right was posted by gaming site IGN. Now, if you look closely, you will see on the upper left side a Wi-Fi logo. Look anywhere else and we're telling you, this is the only pack shot we've seen that has this logo. Even Ubisoft's pack shot doesn't have one.

So what's the real deal? We really have no idea for now. Bit if you want to make this more interesting, GameSpot has the following additional information:
  • Offline Modes: Team Oriented
  • Online Modes: Competitive
  • Number of Players: 1-2
  • Number of Online Players: 16 Online
Reggie Fils-Aime mentioned back in December of 2006 that "There will be titles that we'll be announcing in first quarter 2007, that'll be multiplayer-enabled." So could Blazing Angels be it? The author of the Go Nintendo article doesn't think so (it was the Go Nintendo article that first alerted us of this bit of news).

We will tell you as soon as we get the official word from Ubisoft. The game will be released on March 30.

The PS3/Wii mode is probably something related to motion-sensing, since that's a feature those two consoles have and the 360 doesn't.

Are you positive this is true about the Wii online?
I hope so, but I'm not convinced.
Well, I did see the box art of the game, which is pretty convincing.
Hmm...

It looks like they wanted it to have it, but, if it did have it, ubisoft would be advertising it like crazy. IGN would already have reviews and we wouldn't be speculating.
