Tekken cast - Image 1

Adding to the list of video games with movie adaptations is Namo Bandai's Tekken, with Dwight Little (of Anacondas) slated as director for the beat-'em-up flick. Rehearsal for the movie is scheduled to start on September, while the photo shoot dates will start on November, in Hungary.

Moviehole was able to get hold of Jin's character description, which seems to fit the bill...quite. Check out the movie's take on Jin, who is slated to be the movie's lead character:

Jin: Early 20s, tough for his age and has a developed physical presence. He is Asian, or Asian/American, a fine actor and also a natural athlete and/or martial arts practitioner. Jin should feel more man than boy and ideally have a bit of an edge, garnered from living his early life on the streets. Jin will have complex emotional scenes to play and must be convincing both as an actor and athlete. Jin Kazama is the star and lead character in TEKKEN.

Convincing much? With the seeming influx of movies based on games, it'd be a great joy should their storylines and characterizations stay true to the source material. More details as they come along!

 » Typo

Found a typo... It's Namco, not Namo... :P

Anyway, Is it CG or "normal"?

   Re: somebody (Unregistered) - 2007-07-22
 » .

i think they are making a "real" movie and no cg.

.. although a cg movie would be pretty cool (with the cg-graphics of the tekken-games it would cost 2 much i'd think.)

   Re: na2rul - 2007-07-22
 » CG? I doubt it

But I wud definetly prefer CG. That way Voice actors will be same as game let alone look like

   Re: somebody (Unregistered) - 2007-07-22
 » voice actors the same?

i doubt it, because i can't imagine the japanese guys (eg jin) talk japanese while others are speaking english :P bryan for example speaks english i think

 » yeah right

This is gonna be as good as the Street Fighter movie, and the upcoming DOA movie.

   Re: lavino (Unregistered) - 2007-07-22
 » upcoming DOA?

Oh it came and gone in here... noone notice and imdb rating is 4.x (which is wayyyyy overrated imo)
Back to the topic... yeah I don't think a Tekken one is gonna end up well..

Re: Mr. Hook. (Unregistered) - 2007-07-22
 » This is OLD news...

NAMCO and other Tekken official sites (TZaibatsu eg) have confirmed and detailed this last year if not more.
They are making a CGI version of Tekken and the story like will follow the 'arcades' story. This project was put in suspend when NAMCO realize that Tekken 6 will need a higher priority arrival due to it will be an extension of Tekken 6's story/ending epilogue(s).
If you want more info, i'm certain you can google this and also well known tekken sites will surely have all the details you will ever need.

But still, I credit Sally B. and QJ for this find and *hope other tekken titles are scheduled for the PSP.

Cheers...

 » main character

i always thought that Kazuya was the main character and not jin.

   Re: Bish (Unregistered) - 2007-07-22
 » If Only!

Kazuya is such a better character that Jin, who is a half ass copy. I hate the way Jin has taken over, its all about him. Kazuya is so much more interesting. If Tekken goes on till number 13,bet your ass Jin will win them all!!!.
Kazuya is the main man to me, superb evil bastard!

Here Here! Kazuya is top!

I wud love to see the story start from tekken 2 story. Kazuya n Heichi (or wot ever) had mad times.
Paul, law, lei were still young as well.

Haha, whats that got to do with a live action video game film :P.

I knew that they were going to make a tekken movie like 2years ago aswell. I hope itl be better than dead or alive..

 » H-wood knock-off characters?

Tekken is the best fighting game out there but most of the characters are taken from other Hollywood movies. Law is the knock-off of Bruce Lee so they get the big Jason Scott Lee again. Lei is the knock off Jackie Chan. Bryan Fury. is the Nexus6 from Bladerunner. Raven is Blade or Wesley Snipe. Those wrestlers can be easly taken from anyone from WCW. King can be nacho Libre, funny stuff. The list goes on. This movie would be a parity like Scary Movies. Who plays Christies is the real question?

» Kazuya As Lead In Tekken Film

KAZUYA AS THE LEAD FIGHTER IN TEKKEN FILM.

The movie version of Tekken should have Kazuya Mishima as the lead fighter in the live action film, not Jin Kazuma and Dwight H Little should not be a director of this movie,I hate the the storyline and the script needs to be rewritten and I think an Asian director should like Ronny Yu should direct this film and other Chinese screenwriter to write the script for the film to follow the plot of Tekken 1 and 2.
Virtua Fighter could go into a live action film if Simon West can direct the film and the plot will be based on Virtua Fighter 5 game.
The people of Hungary are so bloody dumb on the Tekken script and that plot is all false,All false and a hoax.
Thank You.
