they stop porting over FFI & FFII to the PSP, and port over FFIII from the DS ;)...then, I'll have no reason whatsoever to be interested in playing a DS ...hehe
OMG!!! Chrono its back! Best RPG ever is coming back!!!
how is this a huge update? nothing was even confirmed for the psp
Square give mist walker to rights to chrono! i want a GOOD chrono trigger game, not slowly declining chrono game made by square
Only 2 "Chrono" games made and both were awesome WTF are you talking about.
" Square give mist walker to rights to chrono!"
Ideed he must be retarde lol
ur lot r gay
some people that worked on chrono trigger went to mist walker...
"Chrono will make a return, it is just that it will come down to working out copyright details between the various members of the original team (Toriyama(characters), Uematsu(music), Sakaguchi(game)) most of whom are no longer staff of Square Enix."
did you even read that... anyways toriyama still works for squeenix cuz of dragon quest so that part is taken care of...
did you screw up the title on purpose?
Was just thinking the same thing, a bit stupid putting Squeenix in the title but never using it in the actual article.
"Sadly Tanaka-san does not believe the Wii hardware would be able to cope with Final Fantasy XI, which was sad to hear since the game has already appeared on the far inferior PlayStation 2."
Far inferior... I don't think so.
Yeah the PS2 kicks the crap out of the Wii, just like the NES kicks the crap out of the PS2. Not.
i think technically the wii is still behind the ps2 in terms of hardware..
but if you go to the arcade and play tekken 5 dark ressurrection you would assume the arcade machines are as powerful as the ps2. but this is also not true. the arcade machines hold much lower spec machines which run a more optimised code port of the game. well not to mention DR never came to ps2 i think its to be released on ps3? anyhoo, point is less hardware doesnt mean lesser game, but it does place restrictions.
The Wii is technically more powerful than the GameCube, and the GameCube is technically more powerful than the PS2. Even recent PS2 games don't look as good as the first-gen Zelda for Wii. I don't know about "far inferior", but it definitely isn't quite as good.
i suggest u to wait for god of war 2 and then ill ask u if don't look even better than the wii's zelda.
PLEASE ANOTHER CHRONO GAME PLEASE.... :( - :)
This article makes me happy.
i've already played both chrono triger and ffIII using the snes emulator on the psp...
oh well...
time to start FF tactics using OE-C!!
how is this a major update>=? Its just a bunch of rumors and speculation, and tlak of old games everyone played and beat already. WHo cares about 10 yr old games.
Someone must, otherwise these games wouldn't be at the top of the sales charts every single time Squeenix releases a port. Can I go out and buy FF6 yet???
I see you used "Squeenix" in your update ;-)
If by clever you mean gay then yeah
Indeed it's gay, i hate it when people make up their own names for things by shortening them (is it really that hard to just go ahead and type the missing 2 letters?) but i was being sarcastic when i said clever, he obviously saw my comment saying it was stupid to use Squeenix in just the title and not the article, so he put it in the update to try and redeem himself :p
i think its really dumb how people put together two words to make a new name. how hard is it for these people to think of an original alias.
I hate this they think people want to play remakes of FFI and FFII. If they want people to really pay 40 they should at least make the games 3D.
So SE start showing love for the PSP and not this CRAP.
Dude, lot of RPG fans still enjoy the old school 2d Graphics!
I'm looking foward to these games. Although I wish they would make original games more.
Everybody still loves the 2D classics, but when you can buy the console the original is on and the original game for less than the re-release something is wrong. These should be no more than $20.
So Square-Enix wants to make a new Chrono Trigger?Lets hope they can even bring Toriyama, Uematsu and Sakaguchi for alittle insight. Actually Toriyama is with Square. Sakaguchi on the other hand is with Mistwalker and i think they're in ties with Xbox to make 3 games or somthing and Uematsu has his own company, he can do what ever he wants. I will end up buying the game but I guarrentee the team they put together wont even touch the dream team of Toriyama, Sakaguchi, and Uematsu.
now Squareenix can run another great series into the ground just like they've done to Final Fantasy.
Yeah, I'm with Adam and Weezy. Unless by some off chance they can get the three together again, it's not happening... I mean, it could happen, but it most likely won't be near as good.
I don't want to see a Chrono Trigger game without the original team. I don't want to see ANY game or story without the original team working on it!
If it's a new team, let them use their own ideas instead of insulting us and the original creators.
Uematsu did contribute on the Chrono Trigger soundtrack, as did Matsueda Noriko, but Mitsuda Yasunori has the honor of being the primary composer.
It is very interesting, and pleasing, to hear that they have to work out copyright with former employees of the company. That the creators retained so much of the rights while producing under employment contract is quite amazing.
"Uematsu did contribute on the Chrono Trigger soundtrack, as did Matsueda Noriko, but Mitsuda Yasunori has the honor of being the primary composer."
Yo Mac, thanks for clearing that up.
Holla Holla Holla Holla Holla
What Happened to Square? Where did all their programmers go? We would like to see NEW RPG's not rehashes of old ones. They were able to make games for NES, SNES (quite a few ones, not all Final Fantasy), Gameboy, PSX, then then now 4.5 Final Fantasy titles for PS2. They could have had a couple PSP titles out by now, at least one?!?!? I'm tired of these kid RPG's on the PSP.
its just that they saw all the profits they could win from remaking all those GREAT RPG's since they saw all the people frenzy for a FFVII remake and they are jus thinking about $$$$$, but i think a remake of chrono might be good. Im also a fan of parasite eve but i think thats not gonna happen :S
2-D rocks! 3-D is okay to me. Expect Rockman/Megaman 2-D rocks even more than 3-D games of Rockman/Megaman. :D
