Ó

PSP - Image 1Homebrew dev Team 280 is back and they brought with them a nice, nifty app that can prove to be useful to us all. Well, the program doesn't have an official name, but it is a prx that launches the recovery mode or even an EBOOT.

Included in the download is the rockddr program which launches the recovery mode. The prx that calls rockddr. An easy flasher was included so that you can flash the prx into Network Update or Location Free Player. The program is rather easy to install but before you do, make sure that you are using 3.03 OE or 3.10 OE.

Before we proceed, we believe that an application like this deserves a name, don't you think so? Calling Team 280, calling Team 280...

TheKetchupMan, a member of Team 280, mentioned that it is theoretically possible that this runs as well with 3.02 OE. With that said, here's what you should do and a couple of reminders from Team 280:

  • Unzip to the root of your PSP.
  • Launch the Update Flash to flash the PRX to the Network Update.
  • DO NOT move the GAME / GOTORECOV folder. Otherwise, the prx will not work.
  • You need to be in 1.5 kernel.
  • We may probably done a self prx (which does not need the rockddr prog) if we can.
Lastly, Team 280 said that this program has been tested for a while now and is pretty much stable. But then again, there's always that small chance of bricking. As always, you are at your own risk whenever you use homebrew.

What does this do?

   by iNCREDiPiNOY - 2007-02-10
 » Exactly

What's the point of using PRX for?

   Re: ZOLTRIX - 2007-02-10
» It allows you to flash recover mode or an eboot to a XMB icon

meaning, when you click on that icon, Recovery Mode or what ever eboot you flashed will start.

 » cool..

this app works great.. no need to manually restart anymore...

also, if you dont want to flash it, you can just keep the revovery folder in the game directory and run it from "Game" on your memory stick..

to uninstall it, i used Flash Agent to disable network updates...

Nice App :)

Huh... It worked for me.

However, if you delete all the files after flashing, your gonna keep crashing. To fix it, use recovery and recopy the package to your psp, which lets it run again, or reflash the firmware.

i have 3.10 OE-A' and each time i run update flash v0.1 i get this message when i press X

Backup > update_plugin.prx.tmp

is this because my update_plugin.prx isnt the origonal update_plugin.prx or because im in 3.10 OE-A'???
