Bump keysWe know the bump key videos have been circulating for quite some time now, but since we find this really interesting, we might as well show you what this is all about.

Bump keys. This weird-sounding name seems to have an ominous ring to it. You see, "bump keys" are well, keys that are specially-crafted such that they can virtually open any lock. Just place it in the lock you want to open, tap it with a screwdriver or what-have-you, and the lock is opened in no time.

Now, this spells bad news for most people (unless you happen to be a burglar). It seems that locks don't promise security anymore, with bump keys now available for everyone. In fact, it's becoming quite a problem in Germany, as many reach their homes only to find out that their things stolen, but with the doors firmly bolted. Moreover, as there's no "trace of burglary," insurance companies won't pay for the damage done.

So what's your take on these things? Irritating? Scary? Cool? Let us know.

If you refer to the video, it says bump keys have been quite a problem in Germany. I'm not sure if they have it for cars too, though.

#6 that tut is a good tut. They've got good pictures and what not. I first ordered my key from http://www.bumpkey.us and then used that tut to file down the shoulder tip.

Hope this helps someone.
