sprintAlmost everybody's experienced getting product offers through the phone or the mail. Spam, telemarketing calls, the whole works. These may start out as harmless, but they can quickly escalate into an avalanche of spam and garbage that would make any sane person want to do what Michael Douglas did in Falling Down.

Jennifer DeLeo blogged about an incident that happened to her regarding an annoying 888 number that kept calling her phone. She found out that the guilty party was her own cell phone carrier, Sprint, by visiting WhoCalled.us. There, she discovered that she wasn't the only one receiving calls from the said number.

While Ms. DeLeo's experienced ended on a high note (she contacted Sprint and they agreed to block the number, which belonged to Sprint's automated messaging system, from calling her), not everybody who went through this can say the same. Plus, isn't it pretty disappointing to find out that the one giving you a headache is your own cell phone carrier? If this happened to me, I'd feel pretty betrayed and switch. But then again, who's to say that the same thing won't happen with other companies?

Ah, this is giving me a headache. I can't wait for the day when all the spam disappears. With the way things are going right now, though, it feels like spam and cockroaches will be the only ones left on this world after we all get annihilated.
