Access_Denied, from our forums, has released a new application for 3.02OE users, a "Background Maker". With the creation of 3.0 firmware, Sony changed the way their original/default backgrounds are stored on the PSP's flash and previous methods would not work. PSPersonalize, released about a year and a half ago allowed 1.50 firmware PSP's to use custom backgrounds (something of which was non-existent up to this program release), of which Sony followed suit later and released firmware 2.0 which enabled the use of custom backgrounds.

PSPersonalize was limited in the size (150kb) and a resolution of 300x170. With the release of firmware 2.0, users were able to use full resolution backgrounds of any size, which allowed for a clearer and more crisp image. However, even with firmware 3.0 and it's new method of storing Sony's original backgrounds (all one file instead of 12 separate ones).

This application will combine all 12 of your custom backgrounds into one to be used with this and will flash it to the PSP's Flash (dangerous). However, like PSPersonalize, this shares the same downside in regards to resolution limitations and size limitations. It's much safer to use the built-in background changer on your PSP than use this, but for those looking for a permanent solution, this might be for you.

Note: Use this program at your own risk, it may brick your PSP! Read the Readme before use!

so can I flash the ps3 backround with wavy lines?
or the black backround with wavy lines?

 » No.

It's just a background changer. It's to change the PSP's original theme backgrounds to ones you would rather have.

No you can't use it, the Readme says you are limited to backgrounds that are no bigger than "60 x 34" which is WAY to tiny.
Once this program lets you use bigger then "60 x 34", I will gain intrest. But for now, its useless.

» If you have 3.02 OE you don't need it

If you have 3.02 OE you can just use any picture you want as background. and you can use any of the default psp backgrounds. this is meant for 1.5 users. don't risk bricking your psp if you have 3.02 OE!! but if you're using fun have fun with this and good luck!!

this is for 3.02 oe the difference is that u still have the wavy lines with a background picture and it can hold all 12 different ones.

this seems kinda useless since the psp allows you to use any image you want to without the risk of bricking. It was a good idea for the 1.5 fw but now not so much.

 » Why useless?

i did that with Xflash before.
I hate the 12 standard colors, but with this you can make them black.
A black background with wavy lines looks MUCH better then everything else, try it!
