 Apart from gestures and body movement, Kinect also relies on voice recognition and commands for input. The thing is, the system will only recognize your voice if you're from the US, the United Kingdom, Japan, or Mexico. For everyone else, Kinect will not understand a darn thing you're saying. |

Over the next few days we’ll be reviewing some more of the best free games here on www.iPad.net. First up is Real Solitaire Free by EdgeRift. Solitaire is such an historic and well known game that it barely needs an introduction. This EdgeRift version gives you various playing options and has been designed specifically with the iPad in mind, complete with crisp clear graphics and discrete playing sounds. As a free app, Real Solitaire Free contains advertisements which occupy the bottom of the screen. I’ve heard some people moan and groan about this. Come on guys: EdgeRift have to make their money somehow, and the onscreen adverts really don’t interfere with gameplay. If you really don’t like ads in your apps, then there are plenty of paid gaming apps on a Solitaire theme.|

Take-Two’s highly controversial crime drama sequel, Mafia II, went straight to the top of the UK's all-format sales chart last week, kicking Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days into second spot. According to Chart-Track, the game also becomes "the biggest U.K. game launch since Take-Two’s very own Red Dead Redemption 14 weeks ago.”|
 The wait is over - Valkyria Chronicles II is now available in North America. One of the more notable features about the sequel is its multiplayer where you can take up to three friends along for the ride. Despite the game being a turn-based tactical RPG, you and your pals still get to move simultaneously in real-time. Wonder how that's gonna work? Sega's got that covered. |

 The Final Fantasy XIV open beta was scheduled to go live today, August 31st, at 7PM PDT. If you're all psyched waiting for it, sorry, but that's not happening. Square Enix has sent out notification that they've found "critical bugs" in the game, which apparently are big enough to stifle open beta day. |

 When hooked up to Jigsaw's cleverly-devised deathtraps, you know the consequence of failure means, well, death. It sounds a little lame when you put it that way. How you die is where the fun is. In Saw II: Flesh & Blood, you'll be playing live-or-die in more of Jigsaw's contraptions, but even if you fail, you can always watch the interesting result. That's you getting mutilated. Needless to say, the vid's a little gorey, so stay back if that's not your cup of tea. |

 A new controller is on its way for the Xbox 360 and this one's eyeing more function and performance than just another fancy new color. It sports what Microsoft is calling the "transforming D-pad", which basically lets you perform certain actions with the D-pad easier.
